Studio Subscription Terms
1. What this is
Neon Rainbow Hexagon is a community for people building creative and technical projects, games, animations, and other ambitious personal work. Studio is the paid membership tier inside Neon Rainbow Hexagon: mentor access, project feedback, and community features for people who want structured support while they build.
Neon Rainbow Hexagon and Studio are operated by CG Spectrum Institute Pty Ltd (ABN 18 085 501 837) ("we", "us"). Despite being operated by an accredited higher education provider (TEQSA provider number PRV12023), Neon Rainbow Hexagon and Studio are not an accredited course, do not carry any accreditation, and do not themselves confer any award, qualification, or credential. Studio is a standalone commercial product, separate from any CG Spectrum Institute qualification. Where a Studio mentor is also affiliated with CG Spectrum Institute in another capacity, that affiliation does not mean Studio itself is an accredited or institute-delivered offering.
2. The subscription
Studio costs US$449 per month, billed to the payment method on file. This is a recurring subscription that renews automatically each month until you cancel it. You will keep being charged US$449 each month unless you cancel before your next billing date.
Your subscription includes, per billing period:
- Two (2) one-on-one mentor sessions.
- Access to the Studio community area, project feedback channels, and any tools we make available to Studio members from time to time.
Included sessions expire 90 days after they accrue, or when your subscription ends, whichever comes first. Two new sessions accrue at the start of each billing period; each batch carries its own 90-day clock, so a session from an earlier period stays usable into a later one as long as it hasn't hit its own 90-day mark. If you cancel, any sessions you haven't used yet are forfeited at that point, see section 6.
A booked session that you don't attend still counts as one of your included sessions, in the same way an attended session does.
Teams. A subscription can cover a team. One person subscribes and pays, and the people they name get access under that subscription. There is one set of included sessions for the whole team, not one set each: the two sessions that accrue each period are the team's to share. Any team member can buy extra sessions, and those belong to the team as well.
If the subscription ends, access ends for everyone on the team at the same time.
Currency and GST. All prices in these terms are in US dollars, and the price shown is the total you pay. Australian GST is included in that price where GST applies to your purchase. We do not add tax at checkout, and the price is the same wherever you are. If you are in Australia and need a tax invoice for your purchase, contact us using the details in section 11 and we will issue one. Your bank may charge currency conversion or international transaction fees on a payment made in US dollars. Those charges are between you and your bank.
3. Extra sessions
If you want more than your included sessions in a given period, you can buy extra sessions for US$149 each, one at a time. This is a one-off purchase, not a subscription. Buying an extra session does not change your monthly charge or commit you to buying another one.
An extra session you've purchased stays available to use for 90 days from the date you bought it. If you don't use it within that time, it expires.
4. Cancelling
You can cancel your subscription at any time, yourself, without contacting anyone. Use the /cancel command where you manage your subscription. Cancelling stops future billing; it does not undo charges already made except as described in section 5.
If you cancel:
- Within your first 14 days, you can choose between an immediate refund (see section 5) with your access ending straight away, or continuing until the end of the period you've already paid for, with no refund, and no further charges.
- After your first 14 days, your subscription is set to end at the close of your current billing period. You keep full access until then and are not charged again.
5. The 14-day money-back guarantee
We charge you the full US$449 up front. This is not a free trial. If you're not satisfied, you can ask for a refund within 14 days of your first payment.
The refund is calculated as: what you paid, minus the value of any included sessions already used on the subscription, calculated at our standard extra-session rate (US$149 each). On a team subscription that means sessions used by anyone on the team, because the sessions are the team's rather than any one person's. For example, if you've used one included session and ask for a refund on day 10, you're refunded US$449 minus US$149, which is US$300.
Any extra sessions you separately bought and haven't used are refunded in full, regardless of how much of the included allowance you've used.
Your rights under the Australian Consumer Law. Nothing in these terms excludes, restricts or modifies any right or remedy you have under the Australian Consumer Law. The guarantee in this section is offered on top of those rights. It does not replace them, and if the Australian Consumer Law gives you a remedy we have not described here, you still have it.
6. What happens to your access and money when you cancel
- Included sessions are part of what your subscription pays for as you go, they are not separately priced. Any you haven't used are forfeited when your access ends: immediately, in a within-guarantee cancellation, or at the end of your final billing period otherwise. They don't carry a cash value and aren't refunded.
Refunds go to whoever paid. Wherever these terms say we refund something, the money goes back to the card or account that was charged for it. On a team subscription, if a team member bought extra sessions, a refund for those unused sessions goes to that person, not to the subscriber. This is how card refunds work and is not something we can direct elsewhere.
- Extra sessions you purchased separately are a distinct, priced purchase. If you cancel with unused extra sessions, we refund the unused ones. We do not keep money for something you can no longer use.
- Your access to Studio's mentor booking and community features ends when your subscription ends. You do not lose access to anything you were given outside your subscription (for example, if you also hold a comped or sponsored place through a separate arrangement).
7. Changes to price or these terms
We may change the subscription price or these terms from time to time. If we do, we'll tell current subscribers before the change takes effect on their account, and you can cancel under section 4 if you don't want to continue at the new price or terms.
8. No outcome guarantees
Studio provides mentor time, feedback, and a community of people building similar work. It is not a guarantee of any particular result, including, but not limited to, completing a project, having a project published, or securing employment. Mentors bring industry experience to sessions; their availability as a mentor in Studio is separate from, and does not imply, any other relationship they may have with you or with any other organisation.
9. Your information
To run Studio we collect and use personal information about you. That includes your Discord account name and ID, your email address, your subscription status and a customer reference from Stripe, and a record of which mentor you met, when, and for how long. Some of those records are created by your mentor or by a booking link rather than by you.
The detail is in the Studio member privacy notice, at www.cgspectrum.com/studio/privacy. It sets out what we collect, why we collect it, who else it passes through, and what you can ask us to do about it. Read it before you subscribe.
Your information goes overseas. Your records are stored in Australia. Several of the services we use to run Studio are based in the United States, including Discord, Stripe, HubSpot, Slack, and Anthropic, so your information is disclosed to those countries when it passes through them. We stay responsible for it.
Access, correction, and complaints. You can ask to see the information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or make a complaint. Our privacy policy at www.cgspectrum.com/policies-procedures explains how, and you can contact our Privacy Officer at privacyofficer@cgspectrum.com.
10. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Victoria, Australia, and you and we both submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of that state.
