This isn't your typical open day. Event Schedule

CG Spectrum LIVE runs from 10am to 7pm at Fortress Melbourne, split into three session times so you can pick whichever suits you: 10am–12pm, 12pm–2pm, or 4pm–7pm for CG Spectrum After Hours. Once you're in, explore at your own pace: live stage talks run every hour, with workshops, demos and interactive experiences running throughout your session.

🎮 Explore the Expo Floor

Four zones, covering different disciplines. Experience real student work, hands-on and interactive activities, and a feel for how creatives in that field think, solve problems and build.

Game Development: design, art and code, built into systems someone else has to actually play

2D & 3D Animation: performance without an actor. Timing and weight that make a character believable

Digital Art & 3D Visualisation: the visual language a project runs on, built through concept art, environments and light

VFX / 3D Modelling: simulating what doesn't exist in front of a camera, and making it hold up next to what does

Which year levels is the event suitable for?

CG Spectrum LIVE is designed primarily for Years 10 to 12 students who are exploring post-school study and career pathways in the creative industries.

Is there a cost to attend?

No. The event is completely free for schools, teachers and students, however registrations are essential.

Can I register multiple students? Yes. Teachers can register an entire class or multiple classes using the school registration form.
What will students experience on the day? Students will explore games, animation, VFX and digital art through interactive workshops, live demonstrations, industry talks and creative showcases. They'll also have the opportunity to meet industry mentors, ask questions, and learn more about creative career pathways.
How long should we plan to attend? Schools are welcome to attend in their respective 2 hour slot. Students can explore the event at their own pace and participate in the activities that interest them most.
Is the event supervised? Yes. CG Spectrum staff, industry mentors and student ambassadors will be available throughout the event to support attendees and facilitate activities.
Can students participate in workshops? Absolutely. Interactive workshops will run throughout the day, giving students the opportunity to experience different creative disciplines firsthand.
Will students be able to speak with industry professionals? Yes. Students will have opportunities to meet industry mentors, attend live talks, ask questions and gain insights into careers in games, animation, VFX and digital art.
Will there be information about studying at CG Spectrum? Yes. Students and teachers will be able to speak with the CG Spectrum team about courses, entry requirements, scholarships, FEE-HELP, student support and study pathways.
