By the end, you’ll have created your first small in-editor build and gained the confidence to start experimenting.

Design & Research Skills in UEFN Game Production

Behind every great game is a strong design foundation. In this module, you’ll learn how to take an idea and turn it into a workable project. You’ll practice brainstorming, researching design references, and outlining player objectives. This module emphasizes iteration, showing you how to refine ideas through sketches, storyboards, and prototyping. By the end, you’ll know how to plan and prepare for successful game development.

Level & Environment Design

Environments shape how players experience your game. In this module, you’ll learn the principles of level design, including map layout, scale, navigation flow, and visual storytelling. You’ll practice using UEFN tools to build engaging environments, from landscapes to playable spaces that encourage exploration. By the end, you’ll have created a basic but polished level that feels immersive and functional.

Interactive Design

A beautiful level is only the start—interactivity makes it come alive. In this module, you’ll add gameplay mechanics, triggers, events, and logic systems that shape how players interact with your world. You’ll experiment with UEFN’s Blueprint scripting and learn how to design challenges, objectives, and feedback loops that keep players engaged. By the end, you’ll have a level that not only looks great but also plays like a real game.

UEFN Product Development

Game projects are never finished in their first draft. In this module, you’ll refine your work, fix issues, and polish your game for release. You’ll learn the essentials of testing, troubleshooting bugs, balancing gameplay, and applying feedback. This module simulates the real development process, preparing you for how professional teams iterate on their work. By the end, your project will be stable, engaging, and ready to share.
