Originally from Morocco, Mouhsine came to the US to study Computer Science, but quickly realized it was not his cup of “mint tea”. He instead became a 3D artist in the video game industry, a career which gives him an abundance of creative freedom and exciting challenges.
Since getting his first break in 2007, Mouhsine has worked in a variety of 3D modeling and texturing roles at studios like Electronic Arts, BioWare, and Digital Extremes. He is proficient in 3DS Max, Zbrush and Photoshop, and other tools commonly used in the industry such as Substance Painter and Marmoset.
Mouhsine has worked on titles such as Star Wars: The Old Republic, Star Trek, Paladins, and Livelock, and more recently, he was working on innovative AR/VR experiences at Magic Leap.
Making 3D art (especially environments, architecture and props) is Mouhsine's passion and he works hard to stay up to date with the latest technology and improve workflows. You can find him watching tutorials, browsing forums like Polycount, and on websites like Gamasutra or Artstation to keep up to date with the industry.
When not working or mentoring aspiring modelers at CG Spectrum, he loves spending time with his lovely wife Christine and 2 kids Omar and Ayah. On a lazy day, you’ll find him at a coffee shop sipping a cappuccino, or at a bookstore reading a book or magazines. He also has a hankering for photography, and will often grab his camera when he needs a break from work.
Have Mouhsine as your mentor!
